At My Swim School, we believe learning to swim should be just as fun as it is important. Our gentle, play-based approach is designed to help your child feel safe, confident, and excited every time they get in the water.
We know that a happy child learns best—so instead of fear and tears, we use songs, games, and lots of encouragement to teach life-saving water skills in a way that feels like play. Each class is personalized to your child’s pace, helping them build confidence step by step, while we gently guide them a little further every time.
Swimming isn't just a fun activity—it’s also a vital life skill. According to FloridaHealth.gov, drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1–4, and our state has the highest rate in the nation. That’s why we’re passionate about what we do—because learning to swim can save lives.
Let’s make water safety a joyful journey. Join us and give your child the skills they need to stay safe—and have fun doing it!

Swimming isn’t just for safety—it’s one of the best full-body workouts your child (and you!) can enjoy. Because water adds gentle resistance, every kick, reach, and glide helps build strength, endurance, and coordination—all while being easy on growing joints.
Swimming keeps the heart healthy, supports strong lungs, and helps maintain a healthy weight—all while feeling like play. It's exercise disguised as fun!
And the best part? You can start as early as 3 months old and keep swimming well into your golden years. Whether your child is taking their first splash or training for fun and fitness, swimming is a joyful, lifelong activity that supports both body and mind.
Let’s dive into healthy habits together—one splash at a time!
Our Swim Program Progression
At My Swim School, our program is designed to build strong, confident swimmers through progressive, safety-focused instruction:
1. Water Survival Skills (Our First Priority)
We begin by teaching essential survival skills that can save lives. Swimmers will learn how to:
Float independently on their back
Turn from tummy to back and back again
Reach for the wall and climb out
Call out for help in the water
2. Basic Propulsion & Underwater Skills
Once survival skills are mastered, we move on to:
Front and back propulsion (foundations of Freestyle and Backstroke)
Diving underwater to retrieve objects
Reinforcing and practicing water survival skills
3. Stroke Development & Water Safety
Next, we introduce:
The four strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly)
Proper breathing techniques
Basics of relay racing
Water safety skills like helping someone in distress and removing extra weight (shoes, shirt) during accidental submersion
Building endurance
4. Stroke Refinement & Swim Team Preparation
In the final phase, we focus on:
Refining stroke techniques
Learning competitive swimming rules
Building endurance to prepare for swim team tryouts

All classes are 30 minutes long unless other wise arranged.
Every parent has a different goal in mind and every child learns at a different pace. We push each student just enough every class to where they are continuously learning as they build their confidence, but never too far to where they are scared. You pay for a month of classes at a time and you can stop at any point. So there are no long term commitments or sessions you are stuck with. It typically takes 15-20 lessons for a child who is comfortable in the water and has no fear of the water. This changes widely depending on several factors.
It is Florida, so rain (especially in the Summer) is part of our daily life. We do not cancel classes for sprinkles or light rain. We take this opportunity to show our students what it feels like to use their skills in one of many possible real life scenarios. We, however, do not want to put anyone at risk, so if there is visible lightning, nearby thunder or excessive rain we will postpone classes for 30 minutes. It usually clears after that. If it does not, your teacher will make arrangements for a make up class.
We have a satisfaction guaranteed policy. If for ANY reason you are not completely satisfied after the first lesson, we will refund 100% of your tuition (minus the registration fee).
You are also welcome to come and check out the classes before you sign up. Please email or call us to make arrangements.
We offer a 5% discount on tuition for a second and any consecutive students in the same family and payment method.
At My Swim School, we understand that sometimes things come up! Here’s how our make-up policy works:
To qualify for a make-up class, parents must provide at least 12 hours’ notice before the start of the scheduled class.
Parents are responsible for scheduling make-up classes, which can be done conveniently online through our system.
When a class is missed and meets the 12-hour notice requirement, the system will automatically allow the parent to schedule a make-up.
Make-up classes must be scheduled and used within 30 days of the missed class. This 30-day window is designed to help your participant continue to progress and not fall behind in their skills.
Classes canceled by My Swim School due to inclement weather, holidays, or other scheduled closures may always be made up according to this policy.
Missed make-up classes cannot be rescheduled.
Make-up classes may not be with the same instructor as the regular class, and all make-ups are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Make-ups cannot be converted into credit or refund.
Sickness & Attendance:
We understand that children’s health can be unpredictable. Sometimes a child may wake up feeling well in the morning but become sick during the day and miss a class. In these cases, please mark the absence as soon as possible.
If you notify us at least 12 hours before the class, the make-up system will allow you to schedule a replacement class. If illness arises unexpectedly and notice cannot be given in advance, we ask that you keep your child at home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours without medication. We know this can be inconvenient, but prioritizing your child’s health and the safety of all students is our top concern.
We appreciate your cooperation in scheduling make-ups promptly so your participant can stay on track and continue making progress in their lessons!

Ana is such a great teacher! Miles started lessons very afraid of putting his head under water or getting his eyes and ears wet. He was an OK swimmer from the previous year, but regressed and fear grew over the off season. She made the lesson time fun and encouraged him with genuine cheering! Swim safety is so important, so she reviewed the basics all over again and made sure he could float and get a breath!!! The transformation took just a few weeks from fear to fish! And I mean.... He was a big fish grabbing the dive toys off of the pool
We started taking our daughter to My Swim School for swimming lessons since she was 3 years old. She is now 5 and always asks to take her to swimming lessons with Mrs. Ana. She loves the classes and is always looking forward to them. Ana is great with kids and it is obvious that she loves teaching kids to swim. Our daughter learned right away and thanks to My Swim School, we feel more confident and at ease when she is playing at the pool or at the beach.
